ContactSpencer Van Dyk joined CTV News’ parliamentary bureau in Ottawa in 2022, and is a producer for CTV Question Period.
Over the last six years, Spencer’s career has taken her across the country, covering local and provincial stories in Ontario, Alberta, and Quebec.
Prior to joining CTV News, she worked as a radio and online journalist for CBC Ottawa, and was the Eastern Townships correspondent for CBC Quebec, covering daily news and current affairs from across the province outside of Montreal.
She also spent time in the Bow Valley, in Alberta, working as a municipal affairs reporter.
From Ottawa to Banff, Quebec City to Sherbrooke, she’s delved into stories ranging from healthcare access to education, forest fires to shootings, Quebec’s Bills 21 and 96, and all things community human interest.
Born and raised in London, Ont., Spencer got her undergraduate degree in international studies and modern languages from the University of Ottawa, before getting a master’s in journalism from Carleton University.
Spencer speaks English and French, and is working on her Spanish.
