Murder in Laval: man with ties to Hells Angels shot and killed in restaurant

The Sureté du Quebec is investigating an assassination that took place in a Laval restaurant on Tuesday evening.

Witnesses said that a gunman fired at one individual sitting in the Fusion restaurant on Levesque Blvd. around 8 p.m.

Vena tried to run away but the gunman fired again and inflicted a lethal injury before he fled the scene.

CTV News has confirmed the victim, 46-year-old Sebastien Vena, was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

An eyewitness sitting in the restaurant said it was surreal to see Vena walk in, immediately followed by his murderer.

"The killer came real quiet, real slow. The guy just tried to move, he moved a little bit, but bang bang, four times, with a gun with a silencer. It was a hit, professional. Then he went out," said the witness.

"He looked at me but I could not recognize him. He was wearing a mask, a black balaclava. And that's it. He went out, he walked the other way."

The witness said he was stunned by what he had seen, and that many people in the restaurant did not realize what had just happened.

He said officers arrived within a few minutes and he spoke to police about what happened, but said he could not give them a good description of the suspect.

Vena had convictions for attempted murder, assault, and trafficking in marijuana, and had ties to the Hells Angels in Mascouche and Sherbrooke.

Police said the victim has ties to organized crime, and that is why the investigation was transferred from Laval police to the SQ.

Officers interviewed witnesses overnight about the crime while they searched for photos and surveillance video from nearby establishments.

So far there is no description of the suspect.

Police have asked anyone with information to come forward to help them solve the crime.
