Montreal police investigating after multiple shots fired in Saint-Michel

Police on the shots fired in St-Michel The Montreal police is investigating after gunshots rang out in St-Michel on Tuesday night. Spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant with details.

MONTREAL - Montreal police is investigating after more than a dozen gunshots were fired in the Saint-Michel neighbourhood Tuesday.

The incident happened near the corner of Cremazie Boulevard and Henri-Brien Street at 7:30 p.m., damaging several parked cars and a bus shelter.

Witnesses reported seeing several people flee the scene into nearby apartment buildings.

Officers say they did not find any suspects, nor were there any reported injuries. They did, however, find shell casings.

The force's tactical squad was called to the scene and a perimeter was set up.

"So far we don't have any precise descriptions of any individuals that had the firearm or that shot during that intervention. Many people left from there, so we're still looking for potential witnesses that saw maybe a little bit more," said Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

Brabant encouraged anyone with information to call 911 or make an anonymous call to Info-Crime at 514-393-1133,

"We're trying to move on with the information that we have so far, but the information didn't help us to arrest or identify any suspects in that case," said Brabant.
