An Alberta man’s 1960 convertible that was in dire need of repair was restored by his family in an unforgettable surprise.

Tom Calhoun’s 1960 Plymouth Fury was the ‘dating car’ for his then-girlfriend, now wife. The vehicle had been out of commission for 50 years after hitting a deer.

Years of procrastination to get the Fury fixed compelled Calhoun’s son, Dave, to seize the opportunity and surprise his father, who he said had a ‘bad run’ lately with the death of family members in recent years.

CTV Edmonton cameras were rolling and caught the moment the restored convertible was revealed. Watch the touching moment in the video above.
