A few weeks back, Pamela and I took a trip up to Parry Sound for an eye popping and enlightening tour of Crofter's jam/spread plant.
Crofter's is a family run business and their organic products are made with great integrity and care. I love tasty jams and preserves. In fact for years we've taken pride in making our own homemade jams and preserves.
Not only are they a great way for us to enjoy our home grown fruits year round but they also make for some thoughtful gifts from time to time. Nothing says lovin' like homemade jam and so we thought we might learn something from the family that creates this fantastic product.
The good people of Crofter's took us in and showed us the manufacturing end of their business.
We were able to meet their research and development team and ask all the questions in the world while gaining insight on how they compete in such a stiff market.
Little did we know that Crofter's holds 27 per cent of the market share in organic jams and spreads in North America? Impressive indeed!
We also had the pleasure of trying a new line called "Crofter's Superfruit Spreads" which are made with organic, antioxidant rich fruits. As I always say, "the test is in the taste" and the taste is divine!
