Sunshine Thursday afternoon, risk of thunderstorms into Friday

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison brings you the latest weather update for April 17, 2025.

It’s a sunshine-filled day in and around London Thursday, however that won’t last for long.

According to CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison, a low pressure system and warm front are headed in, bringing a risk of thunderstorms and showers overnight, especially in Midwestern Ontario.

“We will see a bit of rainfall first thing Friday morning, as this big push of warm air moves in,” said Atchison.

“Possibility of some heavy thunderstorms as we push through Grey and Bruce County. By Friday afternoon, mainly cloudy, we will see a few breaks of sunshine, still the chance for showers, and then we’ll see a little bit of rainfall as we head through Friday afternoon.”

More rain is expected Saturday morning. Come Friday around lunchtime, Atchison said the temperature will reach around 15 C to 20 C with a chance of showers in the afternoon.

Friday: Cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers early in the morning, then 70 per cent chance of showers or thunderstorms in the morning and 30 per cent chance of showers late in the afternoon. Risk of thunderstorms. Winds southwest 30 km/h, gusting to 50 km/h. High 20.

Friday night: Showers. Low 16 C.

Saturday: Cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers. High 16 C.

Saturday night: Cloudy. Low 3 C.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 13 C.

Sunday night: Cloudy periods with a 30 per cent chance of showers. Low 5 C.
