Man arrested in connection to January break-and-enter: SPS

The Sarnia Police Service has arrested a man in connection to a break-and-enter investigation from January.

On Jan. 12 around 7 p.m., police were called to the 700 block of Cathcart Boulevard. A complainant called, saying a man left her apartment, taking off westbound towards Colbourne Road. When she went back into the apartment, she found her cell phone and prescription medication were taken.

According to the SPS’ investigation, the man was seen in the building hours before. Pictures of the suspect were caught on security systems, which helped identify him.

The suspect was not associated with any specific address, and it was unknown where he was, leading to an arrest warrant being issued.

On Sunday morning around 4:20 a.m., police saw the man near London Road and Christina Street. He was arrested.

The 44-year-old man of no fixed address is now facing charges for break and enter and theft under $5,000.
