Early morning house fire sends two people to hospital

A fire that sent two to hospital could have been worse – if it weren’t for working smoke alarms. CTV London's Reta Ismail reports.

Two people have been sent to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in London.

Crews were called to the 2000 block of Coronation Drive near Hyde Park Road around 5 a.m.

According to London fire, crews arrived to a “fully involved” fire that started in the garage and extended to the second floor of the home.

Everybody in the house did make it out safely, with the two people needing to be treated.

The fire has been knocked down but crews are using an aerial truck to access the roof and remaining hot spots.

Around 5:30 a.m., the scene remained active and people are asked to avoid the area.
