Amazon brings 800 seasonal jobs to the region for holiday season

With holiday season around the corner, Amazon is hiring over 7,000 employees Canada-wide, bringing 800 job openings to London.

Hiring begins this month and continues through December, with positions opening at Amazon’s fulfilment centres, sortation centres and delivery stations. The company says seasonal roles include stowing, picking, packing, sorting and shipping customer orders.

“By creating thousands of new seasonal roles and investing in compensation and workplace benefits, we’re providing meaningful employment opportunities that can lead to long-term careers at Amazon,” said Chuck Cummings, Director of Customer Fulfilment, Amazon Canada.

The company has also announced pay increases with an investment of $110 million in employee pay. Average wages of $23.50 in 2024 are being raised by a dollar.
