39-year-old Sarnia man arrested in mischief investigation

A 39-year-old Sarnia man of no fixed address has been arrested in connection to a mischief investigation.

On Saturday just before 7:30 p.m., police were called to a home on Victoria Street South after receiving reports of an unknown man on their neighbour’s porch. The man was said to be kicking the door and damaging the wooden railing.

The Sarnia Police Service said there were previous reports of the same suspect. When police arrived on scene, the suspect was found nearby at a convenience store.

Through an investigation, the SPS found out the man had outstanding warrants with Huntsville OPP and had two probation orders.

Officers said the man was increasingly agitated and was told he was under arrest. He allegedly resisted arrest before being subdued by officers.

The 39-year-old man is now facing charges for resisting a peace officer, mischief under $5,000, and two counts of failure to comply with probation orders.
