Suspect tries to break into Guelph home while resident inside

Police are looking for a suspect as part of a break-in investigation in Guelph.

The Guelph Police Service was called to a home near Dublin Street North and Green Street on Monday around 11 a.m. A woman told police she had been attending an online lecture when she heard several loud bangs and glass breaking downstairs.

When she went to check what caused the sounds, she found the glass on her front door broken and shards in the entryway. Police said there were also pry marks on the door and damage to both the door and the frame.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male with brown hair. He was wearing all grey clothing and possibly red shoes.
