Police investigate after woman approached children outside Guelph school

Police in Guelph are investigating after three young boys were approached by a woman outside their school Friday morning.

Officers were called just before 10 a.m. to a school near Downey Road and Ptarmigan Drive. The Grade 3 students told police they had been playing soccer in the schoolyard around 8:20 a.m. when an older woman began speaking to them.

She reportedly questioned why there were no adults around and encouraged the boys to wait in her vehicle. The children ran inside and notified a teacher.

Police say no vehicle was seen and no physical contact was made.

The woman is described as white, in her 70s, wearing a green shirt, black shorts, a white hat and sunglasses.
