Guelph man pulls out knife when denied prescription refill

A Guelph man was arrested after he pulled out a knife at an east-end pharmacy.

Guelph Police were called to the unnamed business at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Staff said the man was upset they would not refill a prescription.

He was reportedly armed with a knife and being “verbally aggressive.”

Officers arrested the 36-year-old in pharmacy’s parking lot.

Police said he was charged with assault with a weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
