Guelph man charged after alleged headbutting during school parking dispute

A 39-year-old Guelph man is facing an assault charge after another parent was allegedly headbutted during a dispute over parking at a school in the city’s south end.

Emergency services were called to the school just before 9 a.m. Thursday following reports of an altercation between two men.

Guelph Police say the parents have had ongoing issues related to driving and parking during school drop-off and pick-up times. On Thursday, the situation escalated when the men began arguing over how one of them was parked.

Investigators say as one man turned to walk away, he was headbutted by the other, causing his nose to bleed.

Paramedics assessed the victim at the scene. He did not suffer any serious injuries.

The accused was arrested and charged with assault.
