Guelph man arrested for allegedly waving around large knife

The Guelph Police Service has arrested a 45-year-old man after receiving multiple reports about a man waving around a large knife on Saturday night.

Police said several people said they have seen an intoxicated man running around downtown while holding a 10-inch hunting knife.

When officers found the suspect, they said they seized the knife, which was in a sheath hanging from his belt.

The man was charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and public intoxication.
