Waterloo Regional Police Service recovers 45 riding lawn tractors, Unionville man arrested

The Waterloo Regional Police Service has made an arrest after a tractor trailer hauling dozens of riding lawn tractors was stolen.

The theft was first reported on May 9. Police were told the tractor trailer had been taken from a business in North Dumfries, in the area of New Dundee Road and Pinnacle Drive, with over $100,000 worth of goods inside.

Officers completed two search warrants on Wednesday, one in Markham and another in Scarborough.

During those searches, investigators said they found 45 riding lawn tractors that had been inside the trailer when it was stolen.

In an email to CTV News, police confirmed the tractor trailer was not recovered.

A 37-year-old man from Unionville was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.
