Southern Ontario digs out after winter storm

Snowplows will be scraping the streets all across southern Ontario this morning after a late-winter storm.

CTV’s weather specialist Lyndsay Morrison says Kitchener received sixteen centimetres of snow while the north end of Waterloo got dumped with twenty centimetres.

A winter storm warning was issued overnight for a broad region stretching from the Hamilton area north to Orillia and from the shores of Lake Huron through Peterborough and the Bancroft area.

Snowfall amounts were expected to be closer to 25 centimetres for the Ottawa and Cornwall regions.

The storm has largely shifted into southern Quebec, though London and the Huron-Perth area still remain under snow squall warnings.
