Man arrested after alleged robbery with a metal pipe in Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a man in connection with a robbery in Waterloo Saturday.

Police said officers were called to the area of King Street South and Willis Way for a reported disturbance at a business around 12 p.m.

Police said a man in a store had allegedly yelled and threatened staff before leaving the business with items he hadn’t paid for. The man then allegedly returned with a metal pipe and threatened staff again. He then left and ran away.

Officers had found the man close by on Caroline Street South before they arrested him.

A 32-year-old man was charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
