Fire breaks out in machine shop north of Waterloo

Machine shop fire near St. Clements From CTV Kitchener: A machine shop on the Hessen Strasse was the scene of a fire late Thursday afternoon.

A fire brought emergency crews to a business in Wellesley Township Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the sandblasting and machinery business on Hessen Strasse, south of St. Clements and northwest of Waterloo, shortly before 5 p.m.

Authorities at the scene said that the fire began as welding work was going on inside the building.

They believed that the fire began in the building’s walls before moving up into the attic.

No injuries were reported.
