Body found in Grand River at Parkhill Dam

Police seek info on ID of body found in river From CTV Kitchener’s Nicole Lampa: Police are investigating after a man was found dead in the Grand River at the Parkhill Dam.

Authorities are trying to figure out how a person ended up dead in the Grand River – and who that person is.

Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, a City of Cambridge worker noticed a body at the Parkhill Dam.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the dam to investigate.

“The body was sitting on top of the dam, just teetering right on top of the dam,” Cambridge Fire Department platoon chief Rick Hembly said in an interview.

It’s not clear how long the body had been at the dam, or how it had ended up there.

It exhibited “obvious signs of death,” Hembly said.

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating the case. As of Monday afternoon, they had not determined whether the man’s death should be treated as suspicious.

Police were asking the public for help identifying the man, who they describe as white and likely between 25 and 40 years of age.
