Arrest made west of Stratford after police dealt with barricaded man

What started as a criminal investigation resulted in a man barricading himself inside a home.

The main intersection in the small community of Fullarton was closed Friday as police dealt with the man for ten hours.

According to Provincial Police, there was no concern for public safety. Police did set up a command post in the area.

Fullarton is located 10 kilometres south of Mitchell and about 25 kilometres west of Stratford.

Police say the man who barricaded himself was arrested. 40-year-old Jesse Lord of West Perth has been charged with two counts of fail to comply and unlawfully in a dwelling house.

Lord is now in custody and is being held for a bail hearing.
