HALIFAX - Police in Halifax are investigating the third shooting in the city since Thursday.

On Saturday night, three men walking in the Creighton Street area reported hearing gunshots.

Police say one man -- a 19 year old -- was shot in the back and the group fled the area.

Investigators believe the shooting may have been a random act.

Meanwhile, shots were fired on nearby Clifton Street on Friday night, killing one man and injuring another.

On Thursday afternoon, a man was injured after he was shot on Quinpool Road.

The first two shootings are believed to be linked to the city's illegal drug trade.
