TORONTO -- As the number of cases of COVID-19 spike and health officials try to contain the pandemic, a map has been released that lets you track the novel coronavirus.

Created by Johns Hopkins University, the map tracks the total number of confirmed and suspected cases, the total number of deaths, as well as the location of the detected cases.

The virus was first detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019. It has since spread to more than 200 countries, including Canada, and has infected more than 800,000 people around the world.
