Coronavirus vaccines in Canada: How many people have received shots?

TORONTO -- Canada has begun its largest mass vaccination program in history with COVID-19 inoculations getting underway across the provinces and territories.

Four vaccines, developed by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson, have been authorized for use in Canada to date.

As the country enters this new phase of the ongoing fight against COVID-19, CTVNews.ca is tracking the daily and cumulative vaccine doses administered in Canada, and across the provinces and territories, by surveying the data from public health units. The interactive map outlines the number of COVID-19 doses distributed as a percentage of the country's population.

Provincial and territorial data is collected from official government websites, news releases and press conferences.

Percentage of population vaccinated is based on the number of people who have received at least one dose.

Distribution data is updated less frequently than dose data, which might result in more doses administered than a province has officially received. Vaccine distribution numbers are currently based on this federal government source, which was last updated on April 15. Distribution numbers are currently accurate "as of April 14, 2021."
