FREDERICTON -- New Brunswick is reporting six new cases of COVID-19 today after setting a record with 23 new cases on Saturday.

The provincial health department says five of the new cases today are in the Saint John region and one is in the Fredericton area.

Cases have also been confirmed at Simonds High School in Saint John, and at Hampton Middle School in Hampton, about 40 kilometres east of Saint John.

The release says parents, staff and teachers at Harbour View High School in Saint John were also advised of possible exposure.

The Saint John and Moncton regions remain under "orange" level public health measures, which include single-household bubbles and restricted travel into and out of the areas.

Including the latest figures and after Saturday's record-setting 23 new cases, New Brunswick now has 77 active cases of COVID-19 provincewide.
