EDMONTON - An Edmonton woman is accused of stealing more than 400,000 tablets of the pain-killer Percocet from a pharmacy where she worked.

Police say between January of last year and this past April, the 34-year-old woman stole the opioid-related medication from a northeast-area pharmacy, along with some other types of drugs.

Investigators allege she used the identities of existing pharmacy patients to order medication that she later removed from the business.

They say an April 26 search of the woman's home where two children were present turned up a loaded and stolen gun.

She was arrested July 26 on 11 charges that include possession for purposes of trafficking, possession of a restricted firearm and causing a child to be in need of intervention.

The name of the woman has not been released to protect the children's identities.
