Kelsey Grammer thinks ex-wife Camille Grammer married him because of his TV status.

The 56-year-old actor believes the 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star only tied the knot with him because she thought he would be similar to the "stylish" titular character he played in popular TV show 'Frasier.'

Speaking on CNN's 'Piers Morgan Tonight', Kelsey -- who took on the acting role between 1993 and 2004 -- explained: "I think she married me because I was Frasier.

"Frasier had this great wonderful life ... he was stylish ... and just a little gay ... Kelsey Grammer is a different story. You got home and Kelsey Grammer was somebody different."

The actor -- who is currently in a custody battle with Camille regarding their two children, daughter Mason, nine, and six-year-old son Jude -- was "hurt" by the 43-year-old TV personality the most when she made alleged comments about his new wife Kayte Walsh's miscarriage late last year.

He explained: "The thing that she said that hurt me the most ... that hurt Kayte and me ... is that thing about the child we lost ... something about it being karma ... it's just disgusting.

"She has said quite a few ugly things. It's not so bad she says them publicly, I just know what happens is she says them in front of the kids.

"She once said that I didn't want my daughter ... that p****d me off."

Despite the former couple -- who split last year -- being together for 13 years, Kelsey claimed his ex-wife was unhappy from day one of their marriage.

He said: "Camille asked for a divorce really almost the first day we were married. It stayed that way for a long time.

"I would give a piece of advice to women who say, 'I want a divorce' as some kind of tactic. Because if you say you want a divorce enough times, you are going to get one."

Kelsey explained Camille always wanted to be famous and he gave her reality TV show 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' as a "parting gift."

He explained: "Whether or not it worked well for her doesn't matter. It was my way of saying, 'Look, you always wanted to be famous. Here you go.'"
