MOSCOW -- The husband of imprisoned Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova is complaining that he hasn't been able to contact her for more than two weeks as she is transferred to a new prison.

Tolokonnikova is serving two years for hooliganism after the band's politically provocative 2012 performance in Moscow's main cathedral. She went on a hunger strike to protest prison conditions in September, and she was hospitalized. The prison directorate said last week that she was being moved to a new prison colony.

Pyotr Verzilov told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he had not heard from her in 17 days and "authorities have done everything to prevent her from establishing communication with anyone."
