Drake has partnered with Canadian star chef Susur Lee to quietly open a restaurant in his hometown of Toronto.
Not many saw it coming. There was little buzz, little fanfare to promote the new restaurant Fring's, with the exception of a few teases from Lee on Instagram.
But Monday night, Toronto hosted a bevy of Drake's friends including Jayden Smith and his current love interest Serena Williams, according to the running live tweets from Hello! magazine's beauty and fashion editor Ally Dean.
"Well, #JaydenSmith just bumped into me at #FringsToronto. And now he's dancing like a boss. It's all in a day's work," she tweeted.
Details on the restaurant itself, meanwhile, are scarce.
Info cobbled from Instagram and Vine postings suggest that the downtown restaurant will be run by Lee, as well as his sons Levi, Kai and pal Angelo Ferraro.
Lee is perhaps best known for among TV audiences for his 2010 appearance on "Top Chef Masters" in 2010, where he finished second to Marcus Samuelsson.
The Chinese-Canadian chef also helms popular Toronto restaurants Lee, Bent and Luckee, and Tunglok Heen in Singapore.
An Instagram page has been opened for the restaurant at https://instagram.com/fringstoronto/.
