Elvis Presley may have died 40 years ago, but his legend lives on. Born into poverty in Tupelo, Mississippi, Presley would go on to become the biggest recording artist the world had ever seen before dying in his home at age 42.
Fans from around the world have flocked to Graceland to attend the annual Elvis week celebration – the 10-day celebration of the music, movies, and life of Presley -- hosted at his Graceland home in Memphis.
This year’s event is expected to be even bigger than ever to mark the 40th anniversary of Presley’s death. Tens of thousands of people joined his ex-wife Priscilla and daughter Lisa Marie for a candlelight vigil at Graceland on Aug. 15.
