Two-vehicle crash delays downtown morning commute Thursday

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) and Edmonton Police Service (EPS) responded to a crash involving two vehicles on River Valley Road during the morning commute on Thursday.

According to police, EFRS arrived at the collision just east of Groat Road around 7:10 a.m.

CTV News Edmonton drone video appears to show fire rescue trying to open the front passenger door of a dark SUV. Another car can be seen moving onto the side of the road while emergency crews work.

Officers diverted traffic around the crash area causing delays for a short period of time, according to EPS.

The road has since reopened and no serious injuries were reported.

It is unclear how many people were involved and what caused the crash.
