St. Albert joins growing list of fire warnings in the province

The City of St. Albert has issued a fire advisory that will be in place on Friday at 9 a.m. until further notice.

The fire advisory was issued due to dry and windy conditions that have increased the chances of fire.

Officials are asking people to be cautious when using outdoor fire or heat sources that are permitted and in compliance with the Fire Services Bylaw.

Fire pits should be fully extinguished after use and smoking materials, like cigarettes and lighters, should be placed in proper disposal bins.

A fire restriction or ban may be issued if the situation changes, according to a press release.
