Sports bar puts up Oilers billboard in Vegas in ‘fun’ revenge ahead of Game 5

An Edmonton bar is firing back at a Las Vegas bar with a cheeky billboard after the Oilers surged to a 3-1 series lead in the second round of the playoffs.

From 00.4 to 3-1, the Oilers are clearly in the lead with a billboard ready to remind their opponents.

Canadian Brewhouse put up a billboard in Las Vegas that reads “3-1” and “Go Oilers Go!”

The Oilers lead the second-round series against the Vegas Golden Knights 3-1 with Game 5 taking place in Sin City at 7:30 p.m. MT on Wednesday.

On Monday, a Vegas sports bar put up a billboard in Edmonton that read “00.4” in a large, red font, and “Go Knights Go!” after the Knights scored with under a second left to beat the Oilers 4-3 in Game 3.

The Brewhouse wanted to join the back-and-forth to add to the excitement of the series.

“It was a lighthearted response to a billboard a Vegas bar put up here in Edmonton prior to Game 4,” marketing vice president Graham Last told CTV News Edmonton in an email.

“We couldn’t resist getting in on the fun and showing some support for our team — even from down south.”

The billboard is running all day and should show up about 2,000 times, Last said.
