RCMP investigating suspicious death after body found in Red Deer

RCMP were searching through dumpsters by Red Deer Lodge after a man's body was found on 49th Avenue.

RCMP have been investigating after a body was found in Red Deer.

Officials said they discovered the body of a 53-year-old man around 10 a.m. Sunday near the 4300 block of 49^th Avenue.

The Red Deer RCMP detachment will be assisted by the RCMP Major Crimes Unit.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday afternoon in Calgary.
