Police still searching for arsonist who torched south Edmonton strip mall in 2024

Police say this video shows the moments before a business on Knottwood Road in Edmonton was set on fire on May 27, 2024.

Police are looking for help from the public to solve an arson at an Edmonton strip mall last year.

The fire broke out at Hamud Halal Meat and Grocery near 10 Avenue and Knottwood Road East around 2:30 a.m. on May 27, 2024.

By the time police arrived on scene, the fire had spread to several businesses.

Investigators determined the blaze was deliberately set and damages totalled more than $500,000.

No one was in the building when the fire broke out.

Police say they have run out of investigative avenues and are asking anyone with information of security footage of the fire to contact them at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
