EPS, RCMP still searching for missing Edmonton woman

Weeks after an Edmonton woman was reported missing, officials with the Edmonton Police Service and RCMP said the search continues, in an area of central Alberta near to where her vehicle was found.

EPS said the search for Anina Hundsdoerfer, 32, had continued in a forested area along Highway 734, also known as Trunk Road, between Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg.

RCMP said Rocky Mountain House RCMP officers, along with members from the Calgary General Investigations Section and members of RCMP Police Dog Services resumed their search for the Edmonton woman in that area Monday.

Officials said a large area was covered in the search, but no trace of Hundsdoerfer was found.

The woman was reported missing by her roommate on Sunday, March 23 – her last known location is believed to be at her workplace, near 99 Avenue and 108 Street, between 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 22.

On Tuesday, March 25, Hundsdoerfer’s car was found alongside Highway 734 by Fish and Wildlife officers.

More than two weeks after she was reported missing, police are renewing their call for help from the public.

“We continue to ask anyone who may have seen Anina Hundsdoerfer or her 2005 Toyota Echo along the highway, or at some other location, to please contact police and let us know the details,” Sgt. Neil Zurawell with EPS said in a press release. “Police, family and friends are all concerned for her safety and welfare and would like to locate her as soon as possible.”

Hundsdoerfer is described as:

She may be wearing a burgundy, long winter coat, dark form-fitting pants and glasses.

Anyone with information that could help police find Hundsdoerfer is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.

RCMP said the search would continue for the woman until she is found.
