Edmonton weather: Sunshine and back to 20 C

Daytime highs near 20 C in Edmonton this afternoon and Wednesday.

We’ll cool back off to a high in the mid teens Thursday, but for today and tomorrow...above-average temperatures return.

There IS a slight chance of a spotty shower in the area late this afternoon or early this evening.

But, the precipitation will be VERY hit-and-miss across central and north-central Alberta.

It’s Wednesday night into early Thursday morning that looks to be our next best chance at getting some more moisture.

We’ll start off sunny on Wednesday, then some increasing late-day cloud and a very good chance of showers or periods of rain Wednesday night, as well as gusts to around 50 km/h.

Looking ahead to the long weekend, daytime highs should be in the 17 to 21 C range for Friday-Monday.

That’s pretty close to average for mid-May in Edmonton.

The foothills and mountain parks will get some showers through the weekend, but it looks dry across the rest of the province.

The only slight chance of precipitation for the Edmonton region is MAYBE Monday. But, I’ve left it out of the forecast for now because it really doesn’t look likely.

So...warm and sunny (with some afternoon clouds) today and tomorrow. Wet and windy Wednesday night. A cooldown for Thursday before temperatures rebound through the weekend.
