A fire on the Ambassador Bridge connecting Windsor, Ont., with Detroit, Mich., caused massive traffic delays on the busy roadway Tuesday morning.
Aerial footage of the fire showed a truck and a camper engulfed in flames, while black smoke billowed into the sky. No one was injured in the blaze, and the fire was extinguished just before 1 p.m.
Windsor police said the bridge would likely remain closed until about 3:30 p.m. Motorists are being advised to use the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel to cross the border instead.
The suspension bridge is the busiest international border crossing in North America, and serves as a major route for trade.
