PORT MOODY, B.C. -- Suncor Energy confirms about 225 barrels of bio-diesel have leaked at its plant in Port Moody, B.C., with a small amount of the oil seeping into Burrard Inlet.
The incident occurred four days ago, but details are only being released now.
Spokeswoman Sneh Seetal says the leaking tank was drained as soon as the problem was noted.
She also says all the appropriate authorities were immediately informed.
Most of the bio-diesel was collected in a trench and disposed of, and Seetal says Western Canada Marine Response Corporation is working with Suncor to complete the clean-up.
Port Metro Vancouver confirms 250 millilitres -- about one cup -- of diesel has been recovered from Burrard Inlet.
