Officials in Calgary estimate that 100,000 people will be forced out of their homes due to massive flooding.

Residents have been reaching out to evacuees through social media to offer vacant rooms or couches to complete strangers.

Aside from that, the City of Calgary has provided locations for those who can’t find accommodations. People can attend one of these centres: Southland Leisure Centre (200 Southland Drive SW), Acadia Recreation Complex A (240 90 AVE SE) and after the 8 p.m.: Centre Street Church (3900 - 2 Street NE).

The Calgary Humane Society has opened its doors to animals that have been displaced.

There is a Facebook group set up to help flood victims and one already set up to get people on board to clean up the city “when it’s safe to do so.”
