A Quebec provincial traffic camera managed to capture some stunning close-up images of a snowy owl staring curiously into its lens, while flying over a highway in January.
Transport Minister Robert Poëti posted the footage of the wintry scene on Facebook Thursday, remarking that the owl was “magnifique.”

The footage was recorded by a camera installed on Highway 40 on the west of the island, according to Poëti.
Snowy owls are mostly white so that they can blend in with their habitat. They spends summer on the islands of Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, but will fly as far south as Michigan in the winter.
