The British Columbia couple who turned to the Internet to help decide their daughter's name have passed on the suggestion that captured the highest number of votes: Cthulhu All-Spark.
But Alysha and Stephen McLaughlin did settle on the more traditional, second-place finisher.
The Kelowna couple welcomed Amelia Savannah Joy McLaughlin to the world on April 7.
McLaughlin launched the website NameMyDaughter.com to let the entire Internet weigh-in on the name of the newest addition of his family.
However, from the beginning, McLaughlin, a software developer, made it clear that regardless of the winner, it would be up to him and his wife to ultimately make the final decision.
"Alas my daughter shall not be named WackyTaco692. Sorry guys the wife wouldn't go for a free for all," he wrote on the website.
Amelia was the second favorite first name out of 150,000 votes. It was among the more traditional favourite names, which also included Charlotte and Leslie.
All-Spark was the favourite middle name of voters. Other top contenders included Pond and Salad.
But in the end, the McLaughlins settled on two middle names, Savannah and Joy.
McLaughlin said he plans on archiving the website and all the votes to show Amelia when she's older.
