A great-grandfather is $24.5 million richer after claiming a winning ticket to a Lotto 6-49 jackpot draw.

The ticket, worth a whopping $24,518,434.50, was sold in Toronto ahead of the Nov. 7 draw, but the winner didn't come forward for three weeks.

Winston Parks, a great-grandfather who lives in Toronto, said he didn't believe he'd won at first.

"I checked on my laptop and I checked on my desktop too," he said in a statement Tuesday.

"I also asked family members to come and see for themselves."

Parks told the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation that he plans to share the wealth with his family.

"I purchased the ticket but my whole family won," he said.

"I have lived a full life so this big win will give the people I love the opportunity to live full lives of their own."
