A chuckwagon driver is in hospital with undisclosed injuries after falling from his wagon Tuesday night during the Calgary Stampede.

A release from the World Professional Chuckwagon Association identified the rider as 46-year-old Obrey Motowylo, from Bluffton, Alta..

While taking part in the eighth heat of the Rangeland Derby, Motowylo was thrown from his wagon as he circled barrels in the infield.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

No other injuries were reported, including among the horses.
