A six-year-old girl whose family lived in Winnipeg until recently was among the 20 children killed in a mass shooting at a Connecticut school, according to reports.

Several media outlets are reporting that the daughter of jazz musician Jimmy Greene, Ana, was killed in the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Friday morning. Her brother was not hurt.

Greene, whose professional website says he was born in Hartford, Conn., is a former University of Manitoba jazz instructor. He moved with his wife and children from Winnipeg to Connecticut earlier this year.

Ana and her brother had reportedly attended Linden Christian School in Winnipeg before the move.

Police said a 20-year-old son of one of the teachers at Sandy Hook school opened fire in two classrooms, killing 20 kids and six adults. He murdered his mother at home before embarking on the shooting rampage and taking his own life.
