BRANDON, Man. -- A collision between two military trucks engaged in a training exercise has sent nine Manitoba soldiers to hospital.

Media reports indicate none of the soldiers had life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred Wednesday around the supper hour near Canadian Forces Base Shilo, which is east of Brandon, Man.

The call was handled by emergency responders from both the base and nearby Brandon.

One soldier was treated on scene and released.

The injured soldiers are members of 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.

Base officials say an investigation has been launched into the cause of the crash.
