One dead, one with life-threatening injuries after northeast shooting

CALGARY — Police are investigating a fatal shooting in northeast Calgary that left one man dead and another with life-threatening injuries.

One man was found dead at the scene on the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard N.E., the other man was taken to hospital, Calgary Police Service said.

Officers were called to the Saddle Ridge area shortly before 7:30 p.m. following reports of shots being fired.

The homicde unit is investigating.

Police said it was too early Saturday night to provide suspect descriptions, but did confirm a search for those involved was underway.

An autopsy will be scheduled for next week.
