Accused in Stettler shooting faces laundry list of charges

33-year-old Darren Bauer was arrested in connection to a New Year's Eve shooting in the town of Stettler

The suspect in a New Year’s Eve shooting in the town of Stettler which left a 37-year-old man seriously wounded remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.

33-year-old Darren James Bauer, of no fixed address, was identified as the suspected shooter following an afternoon altercation which began with a traffic collision. Police determined Bauer and the victim knew each other, and were both known to police.

The victim was transported to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.

Bauer was apprehended in Calgary on January 1 while driving a stolen vehicle.
