2 dead in Lacombe County collision

An investigation is underway into a Saturday morning crash in Lacombe County that left two people dead and two others injured.

At 9:55 a.m., Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to reports of a serious crash at the intersection of Highway 766 and Highway 12.

Officers discovered the two occupants of a GMC Sierra, a 75-year-old and a 72-year-old man from Lacombe, were dead.

The two occupants of a Dodge truck, a 23-year-old and a 19-year-old man from Red Deer, were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The scene has now been cleared by RCMP and normal traffic flow has resumed.
