SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Moosehead Breweries is shifting sales responsibilities for the beer it sells in the United States from in-house staff to a Connecticut-based firm.

The New Brunswick-based brewery says privately held United States Beverage will handle the U.S. market beginning Nov. 1.

Andrew Oland, the president of Moosehead, says the imported beer specialist will help market the Moosehead and Hop City brands.

Oland says the company's American staff are being offered the chance to be interviewed for a job with United States Beverage.

He says the company currently sells slightly under one million cases of beer in the highly competitive U.S. beer market.

In recent years, the Moosehead brands were imported to the U.S. by its wholly-owned affiliate, Moosehead USA.
